SS501 Confirms Malaysia for Persona Tour

SS501, which has been recently filming in Malaysia, previously announced hopes to hold a concert in this country at the end of 2009 or next January as part of their Persona tour. Since this announcement, three concert organizing companies from Singapore & Malaysia have reportedly battled for rights to organize this leg of the tour. Ultimately, Marctensia, which has organized Malaysia concerts for Ariel Lin and Akon, won the sole rights with a whopping seven figure sum to organize the Malaysian branch of the tour.

Seven figures… this is reportedly the same ballpark as other A-list celebrities, such asJay Chou and other “kings of pop”. As plans are still in infant stages, the concert venue, date and other specific details have yet to be cemented; however, many guess that the concert will be held in mid-December, as this is the time frame for the Singapore part of the Persona tour. Rumors also speculate that DSP Entertainment (SS501’s management agency) is planning to bring around a hundred staff & crew on the tour, which includes assistants, make up artists, hair stylists, concert tech crew etc.

The Persona tour is already well underway – after kicking it off in Seoul on the first day of August, SS501 started their overseas tour on August 13 with two reportedly kickass concerts in Japan. Fans in Taiwan and Singapore are also anticipating scheduled concerts in the near future.

Jang Geun Suk debuting as a singer?

Actor Jang Geun Suk might be debuting as a singer!

Well, nothing has been confirmed yet, but suspicions have arised recently after his visit to a recording studio.

It has been reported that Jang Geun Suk had met up with hit composer Bang Shi Hyuk in mid-July for a recording session. An onlooker at the studio tipped in that the song that they had recorded was not a remake of any old song, but a new song. This song was said to have an electronic feel, and will no doubt be a dance song.

Jang Geun Suk is currently receiving much love for his eye-catching fashion statements and his unforgettable characters in films. He is most popular amongst 10-20 year olds as a celebrity fashionista, and is still continuing to receive love from his hit drama, “Beethoven Virus.” It is certainly not surprising for people to wonder about Jang Geun Suk’s future plans regarding the music industry, because even while acting, he has been connected to music.

The drama, Beethoven Virus, was a story based around an orchestra band, and his new SBS drama, “You Are Beautiful“, tells a story about young adults starting a band. Through various appearances on variety shows, Jang Geun Suk was able to show off his dance skills and other talents, which definitely qualifies him as a possible singer.

Recently, many famous singers have been challenging the acting field and actors vice versa. The attempt in challenging the other field seems to be a trend nowadays so onlookers are already paying close attention to Jang Geun Suk who shows a high possibility of stepping into the music field as an actor.
